“Every painting is, in some way, a painting of the artist.”
Born in Ukraine and trained at the Kyiv Academy of Fine Art in both art and architecture,
Ludmila Korol’s work is a fusion of structure and emotion,
memory and texture. Her paintings carry the precision of an architect’s hand—
carefully composed, layered with intention—while embracing the expressive freedom of an artist who paints from the heart.
Influenced by Eastern European folklore, urban landscapes,
and the poetry of human connection, her work moves between figures and abstraction,
creating scenes that feel both deeply personal and universally resonant. Her signature textured surfaces
hold traces of history—like walls that have witnessed time, or blueprints of places that exist in memory
more than in reality.
Recurring themes of seasonal change, quiet introspection, and
dreamlike symbolism run through her paintings. Figures with wide, knowing eyes seem
to see beyond the present moment, while birds, foxes, and goldfish act as silent messengers of transformation
and longing. Even in abstraction, the influence of her architectural training is undeniable—
grids, structures, and layered compositions hint at unseen foundations beneath the surface.
Now based in Ireland, Ludmila’s work continues to evolve, drawing from the landscapes around her while staying
rooted in the essence of her origins. Whether through a whimsical portrait, a deeply textured abstract,
or a surreal cityscape, her paintings invite viewers into a world that is at once grounded and dreamlike—
where every detail whispers a story, waiting to be heard.
